This is a great Japanese/Asian market here in Denver, Colorado:

This is my favorite tofu maker, and they're right here in Denver:

Here's a great resource for Asian food if you don't live near an Asian market:

Asian Food Grocer

Located here in downtown Denver, The House of Commons is a destination you should make a prioity. A proper London-style English tearoom, you will find a wonderful variety of quality teas, scones, baked goods, sandwiches, soups, and English imports. Jessica Avery and her charming staff have graced the city with a bastion of English calm:

The true test of any good Indian restaurant is the saag paneer. Either you get a grey-olive drab mass of what once was fresh spinach, swimming in a pool of fat and cream with the occasional piece of cheese, or you get the real thing-Emerald green fresh spinach, spiced, cooked with just the right amount of ghee, and studded with fresh paneer. And that's what you'll be treated to at Asian Garden Indian Restaurant & Bar in Colorado Springs. Owner Raj Adhikari has really outdone himself with this place; the food is freshly made and flavored to perfection, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the space is kept spotlessly clean. In addition to the usual suspects like navratan korma, mutter paneer, and malai kofta, you'll also find Nepalese/Tibetan specialities such as momo (steamed dumplings), chau chau ( Tibetan noodles), and thukpa (Tibetan noodle soup).

The food is primarliy Indian, but tastes of a more subtle Nepalese hand as far as the spicing and amount of cooking fat used are concerned. This has been a hallmark of Raj's food for many years. The restaurant is very vegetarian-friendly with extensive vegetarian menu selections. The freshness of the ingredients speaks volumes for the care and respect with which the dishes are prepared.

Named "Best of the Springs" in 2008 by the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph, Asian Garden promises to raise the standard of Indian food on the front range considerably. I strongly suggest taking a drive down there and giving the food a whirl. With luck you'll meet Raj himself...he's the tall guy with the smile. I promise you won't regret the trip!
